Why Do You Need a Social Security Number to Give Me a Quote?
These days, insurance companies are relying more and more heavily on credit scores when writing an insurance policy. If we don't have your social security number, many of our carriers will not even allow us to move forward with the quote. Some, however, will process the policy, but will automatically rate you as having a poor credit score and as a result, you will pay a lot more for your policy.
Your social security number validates who you are and helps keep a history of your activity. You would expect to give your health insurance provider your social security number, wouldn't you? It's exactly the same for auto, home, life, and other kinds of insurance policies.
Once we have input your social security number into the quote online, it disappears from view. We do not keep social security numbers on file in our office. Your security is extremely important to us!
